American actor, director, and playwright, born in Miami, Florida, United States. He earned a bachelor's degree in drama from Florida A&M University in 1961. His works include Maid in Manhattan (2002), Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), and Deconstructing Harry (1997). He died on October 9, 2011, in Stamford, Connecticut, United States.
