An Irish actress, born in Dublin on December 10, 1941. She studied theater acting in Dublin then began her career in 1965, working in Irish and British theaters before continuing her acting career in America. The beginning of her film career was in 1967, when she acted in the movie Ulysses. Her other notable movies include The Others and Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. She received many awards and nominations, including a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man (1976).
