An Egyptian director of documentaries who started in the mid-sixties after the establishment of the National Center for Cinema in 1967. He joined the Reading and Script Committee of the Cinema Foundation under the supervision of author Naguib Mahfouz. After that, he worked as a teacher of mass media at Al Ain University in UAE. He headed the jury committee of documentary films at the Ismailia International Film Festival in 2007. The Egyptian Ministry of Culture honored him for his role in developing the Egyptian cinema. He appeared in Mohamed Khan's short film The Watermelon (1972).
