Donald Henry Pleasence is an American actor who was born in Worksop, England, on October 5, 1919. He can be seen in the role of the forger Blythe in the 1963 movie, The Great Escape. Donald’s features were the reason for introducing him to the roles of villains, as he was called the multi-faceted man. Donald worked in the theater at the end of the thirties, and his artistic career stopped at the beginning of World War II when he joined the British Royal Air Force. After the war ended, he began working in the cinema, and he is best known for his roles in the movies The Great Escape (1963), and The Prince of Darkness (1987).
