A Filipino actress, born in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. She is one of the famous Filipino actresses in the late 1930s and 1940s before the outbreak of war in Manila. She starred alongside famous actor Serafin Garcia in the 1940s in the movie Tinañgay na Apoy (1940), and appeared...Read more in many works until the early 1950s such as Ulila ng Bataan (1952), then stopped for about two decades. She returned in the 1970s with successive works such as One Night... Three Women! (1974), Atsay (1978), and Oro, Plata, Mata (1982), and won the FAMAS Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie Cain at Abel (1982). She died on August 25, 2019, in Manila, Philippines due to Alzheimer's disease.
