An American writer and producer, born in Washington State, the United States. He began his career as a writer, and his works include short stories and a novel entitled The Crowd Cheers in 1935. In 1937, he signed a contract with the 20th Century Studios. He collaborated with other writers in most of his works. He is known for Tall, Dark, and Handsome (1941) and You Gotta Stay Happy (1948). He also co-wrote many musical plays. He died in London, the United Kingdom.
