Irish film, television and theater actor, born on March 15, 1899 in Roscommon County, Ireland. He was born to a father who works in managing a small store, his parents died when he was eleven years old. He was raised by his aunt who lives in New York, and then when he grew up he returned to Ireland to study at Dublin University. His graduation from university in 1919 coincided with the outbreak of the Irish War of Independence on January 21, 1919. George participated in fighting with the Irish Republican Army, and as soon as the war ended, he fled from Ireland to Canada, where he hid in a cargo ship that transported him there because the British then set a reward for those who can deliver him alive or dead. After the end of the war and his escape, the situation in Ireland calmed down, so he returned to his country and no one was chasing him anymore. He decided to leave politics and revolution and moved towards the path of acting. He joined a theater and participated in plays for a whole year. Among his most known works are South of Suez (1940), and The Man Who Talked Too Much (1940). He died on May 26, 1979 in Solana Beach, San Diego County, California, USA.
