An American writer and director, born into an artistic family in the city of Cleveland, in the state of Ohio, in the United States. He was famous for his innovative cinematic films in the twenties and early thirties of the twentieth century. He began directing films as well and presented The Monster (1925) and The Bat (1926), which is based on a novel by Mary Roberts Reinhart.
