He was an Iraqi singer born in 1948. He was a member of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party and served as head of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate during the time of President Saddam Hussein. He presented many political songs, varied in their lyrics and oriental musical performance mixed with balanced classical rhythm, in classical Arabic as well as in colloquial Iraqi. He also wrote the Rich Girl series. He died on May 17, 2003.
