American actor born on 17 June 1929 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He studied drama at New York University. He made his onscreen debut on The Crimson Kimono (1959), his role on which earned him a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Male. His other notable works include Die Hard (1988), Midway (1976), Flower Drum Song (1961). He died on 28 July 2014 in Los Angeles, California, US.
