American actor born on 17 November 1928 in Duncan, Oklahoma, US. He studied drama at the University of Oklahoma .He started his acting career in 1948. His most notable works include Nebraska (2013), Small Soldiers (1998), Universal Soldier (1992), and Far and Away (1992). He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program in 1982. He is the father of director Ron Howard and actor Clint Howard. He died on 25 November 2017 in Los Angeles, California, US.
