Bahamian-American actress born on 15 November 1973 in Los Angeles, California, US, to Bahamian-American actor Sidney Poitier and actress Joanna Shimkus. She attended the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and earned a BA in acting, and studied at the Stella Adler Studio. Her most notable works include Death Proof (2007), Grindhouse (2007), True Crime (1999), and Nine Lives (2005).
