Chilean-American painter, cinematographer, and director of German origins. He was born in Santiago, Chile, moved to Mexico in 1973, then moved to Europe, where he began working with Arriflex, a company specializing in making cameras. He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers. He is known for Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) and The Bourne Identity (2002).
