A Filipino director, producer, and screenwriter, born in Makati City, Philippines. He studied mass communication at the University of Manila. He started his career as a screenwriter in the late 1990s. In 2006, he directed the movie Donsol, which is the first film he directed, wrote, and co-produced. The film represented the Philippines in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards, and through this experience, he proved his talent as a distinguished director and screenwriter.
