Japanese director and writer born December 12, 1903 in Tokyo, Japan. He was a camera assistant in 1923 in Tokyo before he started directing. His works include A Story of Floating Weeds, Late Spring, and Tokyo Story. He died on December 12, 1963 in Tokyo, Japan.
