American theater and film actor and director, born in 1906 in San Diego, California, USA. He appeared in some productions in high school with his friends and classmates. He worked on Broadway as an actor, production director, and set designer. He joined David O. Selznick as a casting director in 1938. He's known for El Cid (1961), Men in War (1957) and The Glenn Miller Story (1954). He died on April 29, 1967, at the age of 61.
