American actor and writer, born in Manhattan, New York, in the United States. He was the son of actress Filomena Spagnuolo, who performed a few scenes in a number of films. He was also a friend of director Francis Ford Coppola, with whom he collaborated on a film, The Godfather (1972). Among his notable works are Rocky (1976) and Maniac (1980).
