American former basketball player and producer, born in Lansing, Michigan, to parents of African descent,. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1979. He made his debut in the National Basketball Association in 1979, when he played for the Los Angeles Lakers. He formed the Strong duo with his colleague Karim Abdul-Jabbar. He is known for Obsessed (2009) and Brown Sugar (2002).
