An American screenwriter and actor, born in the United States, is the son of an American shoemaker of Italian descent and an amateur American actress. He studied art at Kent State University, Ohio, and since the early 1960s, he has performed regularly at the London Stage. He is known for Falling Down (1993) and Miller's Crossing (1990).
