Chinese-American actress, born in Beijing, China, and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, in the United States in 1947. She joined the acting department at the Pasadena Playhouse in California, USA, in 1956, and after that, she began acting as Lisa Lu. Her acting career took place in Hollywood, where she made an appearance in the movie China Doll (1958), but she did not get many opportunities. She is known for her role in the film The Last Emperor (1987), which won the Best Picture award at the Academy Awards in 1987. She has starred in many films in the Chinese language and won the Golden Horse Film Award in Taiwan. Her participation includes filming more than two hundred films, plays, and series and receiving dozens of awards.
