An American actor and editor, born in New York, United States. He worked in film editing, where he won many awards and had his own innovations in the world of editing. He went to the Collegiate School in Manhattan, which is a private high school. He worked as a music librarian and production helper in the summer of 1961 at a newly founded radio station at the time. Then he graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in liberal arts. He then studied languages and art history in Italy. During his career, he was nominated for an Academy Award several times and finally won the award for the first time in 1979. He won two Oscars for Best Sound and Best Editing for the movie The English Patient (1996).
