An American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born in Altadena, California, and has been playing the violin since the age of four. She studied at the California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita and began her artistic activity through singing. She also worked in the field of voice dubbing. She is known for The Sound of Music (1965) and Mulan (1998).
