An Australian actor born in Melbourne in 1963. His parents got divorced when he was nine, then he moved to live with his aunt. In his youth, Taylor worked many jobs, including a miner and a lifeguard. Following an accident in which he nearly drowned, he joined a drama school. After graduating in 1988, Taylor began his career, and his first significant role was in 1989 in the Australian soap opera Home and Away, and in 1993 he got his first starring role in the Australian miniseries The Feds. Taylor went to Hollywood in 1999, appearing in the hit movie The Matrix, which he followed with several roles in films, such as Vertical Limit.
