An American actor, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a mother who worked as a dancer and a father who was a musical artist. He worked as a nurse and bouncer in jazz clubs in New York before starting his acting career. He is known for Live and Let Die (1973) and King Kong (1976).
