An American actress of English and German origins, born in New York, United States, to actress Rosalind Gould, and producer and actor Robert K. Adams, a former vice president of the CBS network. Lynne Adams is her sister. She studied at the High School of Performing Arts and the School of American Ballet. She began her acting career on stage. She is known for Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) and The Dead Zone (1983).
