An English actor and singer, born in Burnley, England. He started his acting career in music halls in Britain before moving to the United States at the outbreak of WWII. He also worked on Broadway in New York during the 1940s and 1950s, in addition to his years-long career in cinema. Some of his credits are Robin Hood (1973) and Alice in Wonderland (1951).
