An American actor, born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He studied at Bowling Green State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and began his acting career in New York theaters. He won the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2007 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for Grey's Anatomy, where he played Dr. Richard Webber. His credits include Just Wright (2010) and 42 (2013).
