An American writer and producer, born in Miami, Florida. She attended the University of Southern California, where she met director Robert Altman while studying. She began her career by working with him in the movie 3 Women (1977) and later appeared as herself in the movie The Player (1992). Her credits include Mad Men, 9 to 5, and Better Things.
