She was even awarded Reporter of the Year by The Associated Press. After a brief stint with them, she moved to work as a technical reporter on A CURRENT AFFAIR, which she worked on until it was canceled in 1996. In the following years, she moved between many different programs and networks, co-hosting programs such as Access Hollywood and Dateline NBC, as well as covering many famous events. Such as Oscars, Emmys, Grammys and Golden Globes. Odell made her way to the world of acting in small roles in several works such as the series Charmed and a number of parts of the famous horror movie series Scream. She has been co-hosting the popular TV show, Entertainment Tonight, since 2011.
