In 1995, he moved to California to study for a doctorate at Stanford University, but he left the university just two days after joining it to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions in the fields of the Internet, outer space science, and renewable energy. In 2002, Musk obtained American citizenship, and in 2022, he acquired the social media platform Twitter before later changing its name to X. His credits include Thank You for Smoking (2005) and Why Him? (2016).
