An American actor, born in Loma Linda, California, United States. He was conscripted into the army and served for twenty-one months in the Vietnam War as a medic. After completing his military service, he sought to become an actor, and he made his debut in Dirty Harry (1971). He studied at Chabot Junior College in California. He worked as a master scene study teacher and director at The Beverly Hills Playhouse with his colleague Milton Katselas for more than thirty years. He also owns and operates Richard Lawson Studios. His credits include How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998) and Poltergeist (1982).
