An American writer, born in New York, United States. He joined the US Navy after graduating from Columbia University and did his military service during World War I. He then joined the New York Daily News and worked there as a sports editor from 1922 to 1936. Among his early books was "The Snow Goose", which was published in 1941. His other books include "Flowers for Mrs. Harris", which was adapted into a movie in 2022. He died on July 15, 1976.
