A classically trained Shakespearean theater actor in his native Canada before heading to Hollywood (USA) in 1980, where he began his career. He was remarkably handsome, and his voice was refined and elegant. As a child he was encouraged by his father, artist Peter Regehr, to develop his talents. He later studied with Dutch surrealist painting, Henri Poesiat, as well as literature, psychology and sociology at Camosun College on Vancouver Island. He was also a figure skater, and Olympic boxing competitor. Among his most prominent works are The Banker (1989), and Billy the Kid (1989).
