He is a Japanese actor, born on November 6, 1963, in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan. He is known for Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), 13 Assassins (2010), and Ninja (2009). In 2012, he won the "Best Actor" award at the Punta del Este International Film Festival for his role in Dirty Hearts (2011).
