Mexican-American actor, director, and producer, born on February 24, 1947 in Los Angeles, California. Edward decided at the age of thirteen to become a rock singer and at the time was a baseball player. In the sixties and seventies of the last century, he achieved success in the clubs, but a friend of his advised him to change his profession to acting. In 1978, he received a Tony Award. His real fame came from his role as Castillo in the TV series Miami Vice, (1984-1989). He was nominated for an Academy Award in 1988. In 1997, he won an Alma Award for his role in Selena - The American Dream. He got married to Puerto Rican actress Lymari Nadal.
