An Indian director and actor, born in Mumbai, India. He is the son of the late actor M. B. Shetty, who worked in some Indian films. He has been interested in films since childhood. He started his artistic career in 1991, at the age of seventeen, when he worked as an assistant director with Kuku Kohli in the film Phool Aur Kaante. He then became an independent director in 2003, when he directed the film Zameen. He then directed several works such as Sooryavanshi (2021), Dilwale (2015), Golmaal Again (2017), and Simmba (2018).
