Egyptian singer born in Cairo in the early 1940s, he moved to Alexandria with his family at the age of 4. He was discovered by Hafez Abdel Wahab, head of Alexandria Radio, while singing at a school event and became a singer in the Radio of Alexandria in 1961. He sang in the film Ultimate Joy (1963) by director Mohamed Salem.
