An American writer, director, and producer, born in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He studied at Goddard College, New Jersey. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and he gained fame because of his theatrical writings. He won the Pulitzer Prize for his play Glengarry Glen Ross. He was nominated for an Oscar twice. Among his books are "South of the Northeast Kingdom" and "The Wicked Son". His film credits include Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) and Wag the Dog (1997).
