A Turkish writer, born in Istanbul on September 20, 1948. He studied at Michigan University. He worked in various jobs in the Navy as a distinguished engineer in the construction of ships until 1989, after which he turned to writing. One of his first stories was published on New...Read more Year's Day in 1969. He also wrote humorous articles in weekly magazines. Dolek won first place in the Children’s Narrative Competition held by the Ministry of Culture for his novel "The Green Hill” in 1979. His novel "Kiracı" (Tenant) was adapted into a movie in 1987, while his TV series include White Poppies. Dolek died of a cerebral hemorrhage on November 7, 2005.
