An English actor, writer, and director, born in Essex County, England, to a father who worked in a soap factory, while his mother was a dining room supervisor in a hospital. He studied at Ockendon Courts County Secondary School. He was a member of both the National Youth Theatre and Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop. Some of his credits include Bleak House (2005) and Alien³ (1992).
