An American actor, born in Washington, D.C., to a father who worked as a naval officer. His mother encouraged him to pursue theatrical arts during his high school studies before he enrolled at Yale University and majored in history and arts. He served in the US Navy for three years, then became an actor. Among his credits are Dark Shadows (1966) and Family Business (1989).
