An American journalist, sports commentator, TV presenter, and actor, born on July 22, 1940 in Greater Sudbury, Canada into a French-English family. Trebek attended Sudbury High School, then graduated from the University of Ottawa with a philosophy degree in 1961. Eventually, he worked at the CBC radio and television divisions. In 1973, he moved to the US, where he worked for NBC, hosting the then-new game show The Wizard of Odds.
