An American actor and producer, born on January 22, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, USA. His notable films include Faces (1968), for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the National Society of Film Critics Awards and was nominated for an Oscar in the same category, in addition to Dick Tracy (1990), Rushmore (1998), and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004).
