A British screenwriter, born on the Isle of Wight, England. She lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When she was young, she was a chorus girl with the Ziegfeld Follies with a group of dancers that included Billie Dove and Alta King. She credited the novelist James M. Barrie with inspiring her to turn to screenwriting. In the late 1930s, she was hired by producer Walter C. Mycroft to work for British International Pictures. She also collaborated frequently with Irish director Herbert Brenon. After her death, her daughter donated some of her original scripts and screenplays to a library at the University of California, United States. Among her credits are West of Singapore (1933) and Storm Over Lisbon (1944).
