An American actor, who was born on May 10, 1882 in Boston. He began his career in 1915 and appeared in nearly 250 films. His career spanned more than 42 years. Among his most important works are the films Cleopatra (1917), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1947), Carson City (1952), and The Band Wagon (1953). He died February 20, 1958 in Beverly Hills, United States.
