An American actress and singer, born in 1946 in New York. She grew up with her mother, artist Rita Benson, and her father, attorney Harold Lipton. She attended Lawrence Junior High School. She worked as a singer and model, and then started acting in the series Bewitched (1965). She's best known for her roles in Twin Peaks and The Postman. She was nominated for an Emmy 4 times, and won a Golden Globe for her role in The Mod Squad in 1971.
