An American science fiction author, born in California, United States. He graduated from the California Institute of Technology after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in astronomy. He then obtained a Master’s degree in applied physics from the University of California, San Diego, and obtained a doctorate in astronomy. He also received a fellowship at the California Space Institute. He's known for The Postman (1997), which was adapted from his novel of the same name.
