An American actor, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the United States. His artistic career spanned nearly thirty years. Among his notable works are St. Elsewhere (1982-1988), The Ninth Configuration (1980), and Harry S. Truman: Plain Speaking (1976). He has also won two Emmy Awards for television and a Tony Award for theater.
