An American stage, film and television actor, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He spent four years in the army, was wounded while serving in World War II, and returned to Philadelphia. He enrolled in Elia Kazan's Actors Studio in New York City. Among his credits are A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront, and The Godfather. He died on March 29, 1982 in Denver, Colorado, USA.
