Tony Jaa is a Thai martial artist, actor, and director. He was born and raised in a rural area in Surin Province. He was inspired to learn martial arts by watching the films of Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li. He has a bachelor's degree from Maha Sarakham College of Physical Education. He started his career as a stuntman for Muay Thai Stunt for 14 years. His break-out role was in the 2003 Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior, followed by Tom-Yum-Goong (The Protector). He also starred, co-wrote, and co-directed Ong- Bak 2 &3. He co-starred in action films including Skin Trade and Furious 7.
